Element 451 has been the catalyst to allow the traditionally siloed areas to better collaborate and has allowed for revolutionary change in our business processes.
Creating Cross-Campus Collaboration at BYU-Hawaii
Located on the island of Oahu, BYU-Hawaii serves its diverse student body of over 3,200 students through small classes taught by expert faculty. The private institution is part of the Brigham Young University educational system operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Among the top majors at BYU-Hawaii are accounting, art, biology, business management, and exercise and sport science. No matter the degree, students are instilled with a love of learning and a servant’s heart to make a difference in their communities.
Earlier this year, BYU-Hawaii staff and administrators decided to strengthen cross-campus collaboration to better serve students and maximize efficiency across departments. Reaching recruitment and enrollment goals was also a top priority. So director of admissions James Faustino, and the BYU-Hawaii team set out to find a perfect-fit CRM to help them accomplish current objectives while innovating toward future goals.
Traditionally siloed campus connects through Element451
Faustino’s Ho’okele Department oversees student recruitment, admissions, new student orientation, international student services, financial aid and scholarships, experiential learning, career services, and alumni relations. With a wide range of day-to-day responsibilities connected to the same ultimate goal of serving students, the BYU-Hawai team found the right match with Element451 to unify processes and promote collaboration.
Instead of each department using a separate software solution, as is common in higher-ed, BYU-Hawaii implemented our student engagement CRM as its new all-in-one platform for:
- Full student lifecycle recruitment and engagement
- Packs — pre-built campaigns and marketing automation
- Automated workflows for email and SMS campaigns
- Hyper-personalized communication at scale
Element was the CRM of choice as it not only would have the capability to meet our needs in recruitment, admissions, and student onboarding, but the variety of features and functions support additional business processes well beyond those areas.
A more cohesive experience for staff and students
A unified system across campus means increased productivity, time savings, enhanced collaboration, and a spirit of innovation. With Element451, information is easily and instantly shared across teams, creating a better work environment for staff and making the student experience more enjoyable through increased student engagement.
Today’s students are more aware than ever of bad marketing and poor design. BYU-Hawaii’s prospects and students now enjoy a more cohesive experience — from the very first recruitment email and accepted students microsite to an enrolled student services newsletter and alumni survey.
Through dynamic, hyper-personalized communication that adapts to individual student needs and wants on their preferred channels, BYU-Hawaii is providing meaningful engagement while saving time and money.
I have also found that the “out-of-the-box” use cases and innovation is welcome by Element451. The staff and trainers are very helpful, personable and have been responsive and available. That kind of service has surpassed my expectations.
The CRM solution that goes above and beyond expectations
Traditional CRM products are not built with higher education institutions in mind, and if they are, many are complicated to use, requiring coding and technical expertise.
Because Element451 was built by higher education professionals specifically for higher education staff, our team understands how to meet the needs of all types of schools, whether they’re a community college, 4-year state university, or a religious private institution like BYU-Hawaii.
Through the support of our customer success team, BYU-Hawaii has been able to easily integrate Element451 with its current student information system, adopt new features as they roll out, and get any questions answered quickly and effectively.
